ABOUT THE BOOK
Ernest Hemingway’s first novel, inspired by his first trip to Pamplona and his fascination with bullfighting culture, is considered by many to be his greatest. Full of sharp prose, this novel tackles love and lust, integrity, masculinity, the struggles of the Lost Generation, and the 1920’s ex-pat culture in Paris and Pamplona.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Ernest Miller Hemingway (July 21, 1889-July 2, 1961), who wrote in succinct and powerful prose, is one of America’s most influential writers. His time as a journalist with the Kansas City Star , his service with Red Cross as an ambulance driver in World War I, and his life as an ex-pat and foreign correspondent with the Toronto Star in Europe were early contributors in shaping his writing style and storytelling. His own adventure-chasing exploits in Africa, Cuba, Spain, and Florida seemed larger than life and shape the mythology of the man. Having written seven novels and two works of non-fiction during his lifetime (additional works, such as
A Moveable Feast, were published posthumously), Hemingway was award the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1954 for The Old Man and the Sea.
