In the debut of ART that LASTS lecture series, art historian and tour guide Daniela Wedel explores one of the most complex art pieces of the 16th century—Mathias Grünewald’s Isenheimer Altarpiece located in the Unterlinden Museum, Colmar. This late Gothic German oeuvre has been described as fantastically strange, exceptionally powerful, intriguing and at the same time cruelly repulsive.
